On this tour of the ancient city of Petra, you will discover one of the seven wonders of the world. Located two hours drive north of Aqaba, the desert city of Petra displays the legacy of the Nabataens who settled in the area over 2000 years ago.The sandstone city is located in the mountains, which depending on time of the day, transforms in color from pink, dark red, purple and orange. You will enter Petra through the main entrance, passing precipitous cliffs you will see the awesome Siq, a huge crack in the sandstone 1,2 km.long. You'll head towards the most famous of Petra's monument, the Treasury, with its intricately carved facade. Your guide will help you explore the many other buildings, facades,crypts, baths, mourning halls, temples, and the Roman theater.You will then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with an extensive selection of oriental dishes before returning to Aqaba.
