Your session starts when you arrive at the outdoor centre in Yorkshire and meet your instructor for a quick safety briefing. They will talk you through how the crossbow works, how to load the bolts safely, and how to line up your sight with the target before you step up to the range.
Once you understand the basic mechanics, you will pick up your bow and head to your designated shooting lane. The equipment has a bit of weight to it, so you will spend your first few shots learning how to hold it steady as you adjust your stance. Your instructor stays close by to help you tweak your aim and improve your technique, which helps you build confidence as you go.
Because the activity blends elements of air rifle target practice with traditional archery, you get a good feel for both timing and precision. You will spend the rest of the time practising on various target distances to see how accurate you can be. The satisfaction comes from watching the bolt fly straight down the range and stick firmly into the target block. As the session progresses, you can take part in a bit of friendly competition with other participants on the range to test your skills under a little bit of pressure.
Once you have fired off your final round of bolts and compared your scores, your time on the shooting range comes to an end.

You must be over the age of 12 to participate. You must wear footwear covering your toes.
Extreme weather may prevent your experience.
Your experience will last for an hour. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your experience start time.
This experience is only valid for 2 people but you will share the experience with others. If others wish to come along they must hold a valid voucher.
You should wear casual clothing and footwear covering your toes which will get muddy.
